Mr. John “Bro” Wilkie writes to us.
Greetings to all and I know it has been quite some time since the last newsletter so please be patient as there is a lot of information to cover. We plan on sending out several newsletters one after another as we have time to do so, in order to get this all covered and discussed. The next newsletter, I promise will contain some very cool photos and a discussion concerning “Temporal Entities”. If for some reason you are receiving this newsletter and do not wish to… there is now a spot that Jason has put up on the site where you can get removed from the mailing list. What was once done by a man will now be done by a machine. This basically means things might get screwed up but not by me. I can now blame all problems on the servers. :-)
Shannon Story http://www.flash.net/~storyink/hotrods/hotrods.htm and Roger Harris have both added and updated their respectful sites so if you haven’t recently visited them, please do so in the near future, lots of new stuff on both of them.
Mr. Harris has a most interesting analysis of the recent rodsect sighting in Albany New York http://www.opendb.com/sol/morerods.htm. I do not understand how it appears to pass behind the cloud, but I have to agree 100% with Mr. Harris due to the fact that this photo taken by Denny Bee-Rod White also show a bee-rod that appears to pass behind the clouds.
I have viewed the raw footage that this still was taken from so even though I do not understand the mechanics behind this illusion I can assure you that the bee-rod did not pass behind the cloud but only appears to. This pretty much says to me that the FBI in all their wisdom took footage of a rodsect claiming it to be a missile or something unexplainable. If the FBI is unable to discern a rodsect from a missile…well lets just say it doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in their ability to protect us and if they did determine it was a rodsect, why haven’t they told anybody?
Jason the Webmaster/owner of the flyingrods site has updated several parts of the site. You can now sign up for the newsletter on the site www.flyingrods.com as we mentioned beforehand and a revised reporting form has been implemented. There are a number of excellent eyewitness reports on the site itself and we are now contacting some people for follow-ups. Those interviews and the information we collect will appear here first, as soon as it is organized.
It’s extraordinary to think the www.flyingrods.com site is receiving over 70,000 hits per month now, with reports, photos, and eyewitness sightings coming in from all over the planet. A lot of people are seeing strange things out there. A number of eyewitness reports have been filed, that escape the analyzing protocol developed for examining video footage. We must take these witnesses seriously and try to understand what they are seeing.

Here we are going to go over the letters Mr. John “Bro” Wilkie has sent us. John “Bro” was the individual who developed a method of filming into the sun, resulting in photos of objects that are other wise very difficult to view. Personally I favor this method of filming. We have written of Mr. Wilkie’s work in the past so it is only fair that we present his views here.
In the Past Jose Escamilla and his crew have claimed that the John Bro Method of filming is “Bogus” (Jeff Farris’s own words), so it is no surprise to me that Mr. Wilkie has an axe to grind with those folks and we are happy to provide a forum for Mr. Wilkie to share his discontent with us.

Man... have I run into a rude group of mis-informed detractors.... concerning this 'RODS' hype/phenomenon.
I have read some of the submissions... at 'Flying Rods' site. And have come across several mentions of myself... and my work. Please... do submit... and post my response here. It is only fair... that I should be able to respond.

I have been mis-quoted.... oh... about a billion times... and by people whom have never bothered to contact me... for my words... my 'take' -- on the subject.
Inaccuracies:
I have never sold a book... video.... or any other product. I have not made 'dime-one' off of this information.... -- during the over seven years that I have been investigating 'the Technique.'
I have never come out publically.... stating that I believe ANY OF THIS... to be extra-terrestrial in nature. ( that was majorly misquoted in 'SIGHTINGS' episode #4051 - "Solar Obliteration." )
I have home-video footage of the actual interview for 'SIGHTINGS' show... and when they asked me what I thought the 'objects' were.... I responed;
" It is all speculation. But I believe that .... sometimes... we just may have captured some images of hardware."

Very un-informed -- mis-directed comments.... on your website... pertaining to me and my work. I am not in-league with Jose Escamilla.... -- and do not subscribe to his methods of presenting this information. If anything.... I am on the 'other side' of this argument.

Hello. This is "John Bro" Wilkie. Interesting... to come across this website.. now, so much later -- after the fact. Jeff Farris... well... what a geniune
intellect he is, huh?? Publically claiming... that the "John Bro Technique" is "bogus." But.... a quite interesting tidbit... if one goes to Art Bell"s website... and looks at the "UFO images" – they will see that Jeff Ferris also has one of his pics there.... and in the image... there is an obvious over-hang off the side of some building... -- hense-forth... the man also used "The Technique" to get his images. Long ago... in the beginning of my experimentation... I contacted these people. ( "RODS REPS." ) I was immediately discouraged by them.
I was also told that I should not announce to folks how I did it... and simply should just sell the pictures. Well... that is not how I conducted announcing my findings. I simply gave the technique away. And... as far as the "John Bro Technique" being bogus... well... look at Jose Escamilla"s first two videos... of RODS. I think it was in the second release - "Smoking Gun evidence" -- that there is even a special section... dedicated to "John Bro Technique." Unless they can get all of the copies back...There is a major contradiction. No... I believe this is all about discrediting my works... -- and I will also add... on one occasion... I was down here in San Diego... and saw Jose Escamilla on the local news. He was showing a "ROD pic" that he and his crew had supposedly shot over this part of the country. Well... the image that "he shot" -- was actually from my on-line archieves... and was shot a few years before hand.
I personally believe that "RODS" exist. But that never was why I introduced "The Technique" to the world. I simply wanted to propose a "beginner technique" -- that would get people habitually looking up to the skies. And I can tell you... it never was prompted ( in my case ) -- by/ as to what I captured on video. The reality is... I had seen things in the skies over Los Angeles... -- that were more stark and mechanical that folks would imagine. Furthermore... I have never stood "on a soapbox" and told the world that I believe these to be "from another planet." I was misquoted on the television "SIGHTINGS" - "Hardcopy" - and "60 minutos." I have only simply stated that, "I believe some of it is hardware." I have had to deal with this crap... for over 7 years now. I am so tired of people like Jose Escamilla... and Jeff Ferris... and Mr. White... making these blanket statements... as if they know a damn thing about my work.
I’m sorry but I have to interject here. Denny “Bee-Rod” White, Mr. Roger “Sol” Harris and Shannon Story, proved with their landmark experiments filming insects that these images were exactly the same as the Rod/UFO images. What many believed to be “rods or UFO’s aka space ships” were exactly the same images one gets when filming insects. These people did not make blanket statements in fact Shannon has right on her site that she can not say what other peoples images are, only her own images. It seems safe to me that one could assume that if the images are exactly the same that perhaps a similar phenomenon is occurring and it may be a rodsect phenomenon. This does not mean all photographs can be explained but it sure causes you to wonder just how many are insects.
Further more these people are my friends and did not receive any monetary rewards for their work and each one was only interested in the facts not in a vendetta against any single individual. We provided the facts are they were exposed by experimental procedures in a timely fashion. To have withheld this information would have been morally wrong and I think would have done more damage then presenting what we, with all our human frailties and shortcomings, believed to be the truth.
Should we believe that these images, which look nearly identical, are insects, rods and metallic craft? I would not argue that some may be UFO’s but I would argue that you couldn’t be sure some of them are not insects. This is little reason to debate the ‘fact’ that a lot of stuff is floating around in the air.
My personal opinion is that most of it is explainable (95%) and a very small percent perhaps (5%) is worthy of more study, falling into the unexplainable class, which is why we are still studying this phenomenon. We do however have to be careful with our determination as to what is known versus what is unknown.

I too have doubted my own sanity (doing it right now). Yes I believe in UFO’s and life on other planets, but I think in light of the recent evidence we cannot accept broad based claims without hard data. If you are interested in what Mr. Wilkie’s “aircraft” look like, browse the www.blackvault.com site for yourself. I might add that when I first viewed these objects that I shared Mr. Wilkie beliefs but since that time I have changed my mind and feel that if any of these images are of extraterrestrial craft then the percentage is extremely small. Although having seen unexplainable craft myself I firmly believe we are being visited and that these “visitors” can be photographed.
Although some anomalous images may be genuine UFO’s the decision cannot be based on photographic evidence alone. There has to be something else supporting the photos. Extreme cold, eyewitness reports that point to something unexplainable or stationary land marks that would allow estimating the size, speed and distance of the object. If a photo appears similar to a rodsect image then we have to suspect it.
Folks have not seen me.. all over Art Bell... and these fancy television specials... because I "call a spade a spade." I have now been dubbed "the infamous "John Bro" " -- because... I have not cared... if it was Art Bell... or Whitley Strieber... or Jesus Christ himself... -- if I see intentional misleading of the public.... or intentional omissions of the facts of this history... or the genre" -- I tell them so... and when they "double-talk" me... I "light them up." I am very angry how all of this has abused.
My work has been extremely distorted...and I say... SHAME on this entire study... -- People do NOT think for
themselves... and rely on their "intellectual heroes" -- to give them their opinion.

"The Technique" was simply a place for beginners to start. Because sometimes...doing it... will give people footage.... that they simply didn"t expect.
Danny White hasen"t disproven "RODS" - because amongst his "bee- pictures" -- he also got some images that look like rods.
The first time I watched Mr. White’s video of the bee-rods, I believed the same thing. I thought to my self, he must have caught some rods in there with the bees. I wanted to believe he had made some mistake while filming. The problem with this logic was the fact that when watching the video, you can see the transformation of the bees into rod images. There can be no arguing with this piece of damming data.
Facts are facts and when something is shown to be a certain way, I can not ignore it to live in a world of my own making, I must accept the facts until conflicting information comes along to disprove that theory. To not do this in my humble opinion is to be blind to the truth. This does little for the advancement of knowledge, only burying it deeper under misinformation.
What Mr. White, Mr. Harris and Shannon Story did, was to prove what insects could look like when filmed in a certain manner. This then leads us to bring closer scrutiny to photos that appear similar to those photos taken by Mr. White and Shannon Story. This does not mean that entities do not exist; it simply means that we must be very careful before labeling these objects.
LIARS!! Intentional mis-leadings... to serve certain parties" agendas. Selling snake oil... --by including some bits of truth. Jose... you disgust me with this. And so does Jeff Ferris. Do you really think that you will ever make me disappear?? Do you really think you can get me to stop?? It has all gone to far. You cannot put the "bullet back into the gun." The world already knows about "John Bro." Sorry... too late. Try another tact. Truth will prevail. And you people have "buddy-buddied" -- and smiled at me... face-to-face...then gone out and omitted my information... -- or slandered me. I will not go quietly.... and to the readers... that is why I have become "the infamous "John Bro." "-- No one... or any faction... will be the "warehouse" -- or controllers... of such information.
We have always tried to present the facts as truthfully as possible and with as full discloser as possible. I agree that Jose has used “bits of truth” and the best cons always include elements of truth in them. Slander is reporting something false and misleading. Our intent has always been to report the facts, and the truth.
The TRUTH, sounds like it should be spoken into the mouth of a deep cave echoing down into the heart of the void. We have never slandered anyone who hadn’t already slandered themselves. I think Mr. Wilkie is right on the money on one point, I believe that some people have intentionally mislead the public for their own financial gains.
Personally... I have hoped to one day sell my journals... of the time in my life... where I made my personal discoveries. But to date... I have not made money from my work. But Jose Escamilla... has made money from my work... -- ie... utilizing "the Johnbro Technique" - ( calling it something else... or with no mention ) -- and he has sold videos... with my material on it. ( I must say... he did give me credit on "RODS: Smoking gun" -- but it was an afterthought... at best.) I am so mad at those people... -- for the blasphamy... of telling people that they are in pursuit of the truth -- yet attempting to re-write history.
When I met with T.J. Constable... back in October of 1997...we went to the roof of his condo... and successfully performed "the technique." He then commented; "VINDICATION!" I introduced Jose Escamilla to T.J. Constable. I originally connected them.
Now... I see that they work together. T.J. told me; " Stay with the elite!" He instructed me to stay off of television and radio shows... and just share this info with individuals in private circles. Now... it is he that is on the radio... and television.
When I informed Whitley Strieber that my journals were complete... and I would like to have them published ( asking for his help ) - he told me; "It is not time yet." Not long afterwards... he ( Mr. Strieber ) - released "Confirmation" -- therein... he mentioned me... as some sort of "also ran." It as pretty insulting. These people have attempted to re-write history... but it will not stand.
Art Bell is yet another one of this sort. What they say to your face....
and what they say on the air... is quite contrary to the reality of them. We are fools to "follow" them. Go to John Greenwald"s "Black Vault" website...
and look at "See UFO"s." It is my true statement... of what I have seen. Also... the article that I wrote... from the initial design that became known as
"The Technique." To them... I say... it is a very cowardly way to go about this business.
You haven't got a hair on your backside... -- and will destroy any and all credibility associated. Yet... anyone seeing Jose's "Entities" special... will also see me in it. Unfortunately, my announcing... and description of "The Technique" was edited out. So typical of Escamilla and crew. I have only just begun.... and I have more ass... than you"ve got teeth.

Originally I entertained certain beliefs, and now having learned (continuing process) and studied this phenomenon, I now entertain different beliefs. Give me a few days and I will entertain once again a different set of beliefs. As we gain knowledge our paradigm should change, to better reflect the new knowledge as it is presented to us.
How does one determine if a UFO is organic, or inorganic or just pollen drifting in the wind? How do you determine if something is “miles away” or very tiny and just 20 feet away?
Mr. Wilkie covers a LOT of ground here in this next “statement” he shared with us. He has the full version posted at www.blackvault.com It is quite long so we have taken segments of it, although if your interested in this kind of “stuff” (you are getting this newsletter) he has all kinds of good photos, diagrams showing how to film, etc. The method is sound but I disagree with Mr. Wilkies original conclusions.
If UFO’s did directly align themselves between the sun and my point of observation, they would certainly render themselves invisible. It’s a rather ingenious ploy
Yes this indeed would be “ingenious”, and pretty neat too because if they were aligned in such a manner as to be invisible to your viewpoint, to someone else a few hundred feet away they would not be blocked by the sun and so would be visible. This is one point I strongly disagree on with you.
The problem I have here with your theory John is the fact that in order to have the sun backlight an object, thereby making it “invisible” the object would have to be very near the sun. Don’t take my word for it, set up an experiment to prove it. Take a bright light (the sun) and take two other smaller objects (you and the UFO). You will notice that when the UFO is close to the light it indeed is made invisible due to the glare and remains invisible (as long as you are looking in the direction of the ‘sun’) even if you move it’s position side to side for quite a ways.
When the UFO is closer to you however, it’s position in regards to being directly over your head, becomes much more critical. A slight variation side-to-side and suddenly the UFO is no longer directly in front of the Sun. Another example is to remember seeing a jet plane cross the sky. Is it ever “invisible”? The only time it might be hard to see would be if it passed direct between the image of the sun and you. Your friend standing a few hundred feet away would not be seeing “exactly” the same image as you would be seeing. Your friend in fact might be able to view the plane while you are blinded by the glare of the sun.
So I think it safe to say that any object traveling within the earth’s atmosphere would be unable to conceal it’s image from everybody at the same time. In order for something to “hide” in the glare of the sun it would have to be in outer space and very near the sun. There may of course be other factors at work here that might prevent people from seeing these objects and the “John Bro” method does in fact enable us to see things that we normally would be unable to view.
All that would be required for special craft to achieve this type of alignment would be the computation of a few measurements and the ability to hover in formation
My skin shivered when, only two minutes into my search, a singular flying object that much resembled a falling star slowly floated down and seemed to stop dead. Then the object started moving toward the east and stopped just a little northwest of my point of observation. I estimated the object to be from five to ten miles above the valley.
I was excited and yet doubting my own sanity. I still remain somehow stunned that these things are actually happening. I kept watching, and the objects continued to fall out of the sun. The interval had now accelerated to one per minute. Then I started to see them descending in pairs, then separating and taking off in opposite directions. They would stop, spin, and go backwards. I even saw one of the objects flying like a bumblebee.
I immediately ran into my place and called up a friend who is also one of the leaders of the Los Angeles chapter of MUFON. I explained to him what I was witnessing, and he promised to go out and look. Given where he was located, I thought that these things must be directly over his head. It is very difficult to determine an airborne vehicle’s distance during the daytime. He went out to view the UFO’S with his naked eye. He also didn’t correctly block out the surface of the sun when attempting to make visual contact.
The man looked for a while but saw nothing. He contacted some of his associates, and they all reported seeing nothing. I could tell by the tone of his voice that even he thought that I was probably mistaken. I asked him to keep looking and then called up Martha in Van Nuys. She said that she would go out and look but later reported seeing nothing. She, too, sounded skeptical.
When I got to Northridge, which is approximately five miles north from where I had been seeing the UFO’s, I again saw the lights trickling down. Also I noticed that the angle of perspective in the sightings had not varied a bit. I could now safely say that these objects were not airborne dust and were definitely miles out into the distance.
I feel as if I am catching the UFO’s at one of their most vulnerable points. Although in our airspace, the disks are perfectly hidden within the circumference of the sun.
They just floated down like dandelions in a summer breeze.
Then I saw them stop, hover, and take off after about three minutes of this. I get the distinct feeling that the spheres of light are now aware of my watching them.
Then two of the objects paired off and seemed to be floating in my direction. I was internally chanting a special prayer and feeling great joy that they were allowing me to see them. Then I whispered , “Please come in closer so I can get a better look at you.”
It continued to grow larger as it grew nearer. This was no energy ball. The UFO appeared to be highly polished and seamless. At one point it looked like a three-story glass top. It appeared to be spinning and was silently running as it passed over my head. I couldn’t help but feel that this display was somehow for my benefit. After all, I had called out to it.
Through the “jog” process, remarkable images immediately popped up onto the screen. Very obvious saucer shapes proceeded to dance to and fro. Some of the objects performed incredible high-speed, right-angle turns. They hovered, accelerated, reversed direction, and came back to do it again.
The fact is, most of the videotaped images would not have been discernible if we had not been viewing them in slow motion. We were all yelling and jumping up out of our chairs with each new image. I could just go on and on with what we were seeing. I thought that I was in the Twilight Zone. It turned out to be some of the most unbelievable action footage of UFO’s that I have ever seen. It took us three-and-a-half hours to view all the footage that I had taken. It was an exhausting viewing session for us. Martha made a copy of the tape for me, and I allowed her to keep the original. I was very happy to receive the confirmation that I was not losing my mind and hallucinating these things.
Soon an odd twinkling light caught my eye. It was up above the city of Sylmar and was
slowly traveling due south from its position. It took approximately five minutes to travel 10 degrees across the horizon. I saw it stop dead in its tracks and hover. As I am writing, it has been in pretty much the same spot for over an hour. This, incidentally, is the same object that I had taped early the previous morning. Sometimes it feels as if these things are calling out to me.
Our peripheral vision catches them, but we simply dismiss the microflashes as being passing insects.
I agree, the excitement of discovery can infect us all and is addicting. Due to our peripheral vision being more heavily laden with rods (black and white vision) versus cones (color vision) we do see movement better at the edges of our sight. Objects or events that might pass unnoticed in front of our eyes may be noticed as something fleeting that disappears when our attention focuses on it. Many people report seeing “stuff” out of the corners of their eyes and it makes you wonder what they might be seeing.
Thank you Mr. Wilkies for taking the time to send us the letters and to voice your opinions. I apologize if I have inadvertently offended you. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinions; we are simply searching for the correct ones and we welcome you Mr. Wilkie to join us in that pursuit.
